PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND RESEARCH AREA
2006-present Senior Research Coordinator, Life Sciences Technology Laboratory, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York
Provide coordination and leadership in relevant areas of Department of Medicine for the development and implementation of large-scale gene screen and SNP on microarray platforms, serve as a liaison between center research staff and department and its laboratories, track research activity in relevant areas of microarray science and engineering, and supervise research activities of one technician. The work involves state-of-the-art gene expression profiling approaches using microarray, high-throughput liquid handling and quantitative real-time PCR to discover new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
2005-2006 Research Associate, Department of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York
Investigated the receptor edition of B cell and its relationship with various hormone-mediated triggering processes. Performed the experiments to understand the mechanisms of SLE using prolactin-treated mouse as a model.
1995-2005 PhD Student, Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, Shanghai, China
Studied the biological functions of B7AP in prolonging the survival of allograft using mouse as in vivo model, and modeling the structures of B7 antisense peptide (B7AP) to understand further its structure-related biological properties. Designed, constructed and expressed B7AP-exCD40L fusion protein. It was showed that this B7AP-exCD40L fusion protein causes transplantation tolerance via immuno-anergy mechanism.
1992-19999 Chief Laboratory Scientist, Centre Laboratory of Lianyungang No.1 Hospital, Lianyungan, Jiangsu, China
Carried out clinical laboratory diagnosis and studies pathogenesis of myocardial infarction. Developed three new assays to diagnose myocardial infarction. Became familiar with various techniques of clinical laboratory science, including clinical biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, hematology, blood bank, therapy drug Monitoring (TDM).
